Working from home is quite rewarding - the good thing about the new-normal setup. We can work full-time and attending our family closely at the same time, perfect if you have small children.
Computers and laptops are the essentials that we need for a WFH arrangement. But sometimes it's hard to work on a laptop, especially when you have some vision difficulty. I for one can attest to that. I can hardly see the words I am typing. Or when we have MS Teams meeting (or ZOOM/WeBex meeting to most of you) and my peer from overseas will do some presentations. I'm hardly seeing the content in their presentation.
To fix the problem, I have to mirror my laptop to my TV sets without any cables to connect on both devices. But this trick works if you are using a Smart TV. I got a 42 inch TV, everything on my laptop monitor is visible even the white spaces. Lol.

Now, let say your TV is the standard or the conventional one. We can still use it to mirror our laptops, this time we need cable to connect. And it's a specific cable. It should be a male HDMI on both ends. Most of the current laptops model is now equipped with HDMI as video port unlike for old models that use VGA. You can buy it for about a hundred bucks depending on its length.
I prepare a tutorial video on how to setup using the Microsoft Extended Monitor feature.
It just happened a week ago my old laptop has a screen issue. The upper half of the screen is pixelized. And you can only navigate the lower half of it. It is impossible to use an application with that state, to the point the laptop is unusable. Although the OS and its internal from apps and everything are working fine.
Since I cannot mirror my laptop using the Bluetooth feature because it's on the upper portion of the app and navigating is impossible with half the screen. So I bought an HDMI cable and try if it works.
Lo and behold. Yes, it works perfectly. I can now use my defective screen laptop although I have given a new replacement unit. Lol.
Either way whatever situations you may encounter you can use this trick.
Stay at home and keep safe.
