I love watching Asian Dramas (TV Series). Period dramas are on top of the list. OCD (Original Chinese Dramas) is my favorite. I mean everyone in the show, even the most common or regular guy in OCD can fly and knows kung fu or two. Lol.
Next is the Korean Dramas if you want your heart to be stirred. It looks like Koreans have perfected the art on how to fall in love and swooned with the character every time they have a new one.
If you want some coming of age dramas. The complex of life in the eyes of the teenagers then you need to check out Thais series. Angst, addiction, love, and of course sex - they have it ready to serve you.
Now, let's go back to Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung. This is a historical romcom (romantic comedy) drama. Set in the early 19th century where generally women are looked down upon because of their gender. Goo Hae-ryung (Shin Se-Kyung) is a free-spirited female historian who gets involved with Prince Li Rim (Cha Eun-woo of K-pop band ASTRO) who works underground as a romance novelist. But if you want something dark and suspense series then Japanese TV series is for you.
Its first episode premiered on July 17, 2019, and airs Wednesdays and Thursdays on MBC at 21:00 KST. The series is internationally carried through Netflix.
Refreshing and light. The chemistry among the leads and the casts are awesome in a way that everyone has a moment in the sun (lol).
A breath of fresh air as it is not a typical drama, the male lead is innocent, naive and sheltered. In fact, he is a comic relief in this drama while his counterpart is strong, independent and dominant. True woman empowerment.
