The Vampire Diaries

It seems that vampires are freely moving amongst us, these days eh. They used to afraid coming out in the open for years but look at them now. They were fancied and loved by most.

Lol, I am talking about these vampire phenomenon things that undeniably hypnotizing the mainstream psyche and becoming part of the pop-culture.

When Lestat and Louie introduced themselves in public way back in the early 90s by telling us the other sides of the vampires (read: not all vampires kills human for blood) few were appreciative of them. Now with a generation that hailed Harry Potter as the chosen one and frustrated with him graduating from Hogwarts, these group of hormonal teenagers started shifting its fantasy towards Edward Cullens (yeah wait until Bella kick your fat arses, lol).
The Vampire Diaries, Season I

Ofcourse, aside from Edward, other vampires who’s en-route (Airforce 1?) to making names are the Salvatore’s brothers (Stefan and Damon).

Now, as I have blogged about it yesterday. In my post I stated that I went to the tailor last Saturday so after I had that business finished, I headed straight to Quiapo. I want some DVD hunting and actually ended buying the True Blood's season 1 & 2 because it stars Anna Paquin. I haven’t heard of her since playing Maria aka Rogue (X-Men) and she’s one of my a-bit-favorite actress, so might as well see her other projects. But I swear, I still can’t believe Rogue’s real name is Maria, and I am supposed to be a true Marvelites, argh shame on me then.

Okay back to the topic, aside from True Blood DVD, I also included The Vampire Diaries season 1. Though I have already bought a copy of this way back but it was the incomplete version. Now before I had to pay the saleslady, I have made it sure it’s the complete one. I have it tested and the saleslady actually showed me the last episode.

My interest of watching this series was rekindled after ETC started promoting the show. They will be showing the season 1 this August, starting er was it 23? Uh I forgot the exact date but I’m very sure this August, lol.

The Vampire Diaries is an interesting series, well atleast for me. Elena is a very strong willed woman who do not afraid of what comes her way as long as she get what she wanted, more importantly when it talks about the matter of hearts. Very Bella Swan if you ask me. So I keep asking myself. Is this typical of vampire-human love affairs? I mean, it seems every woman who falls for a vampire wouldn’t mind of the consequences they’re getting into as long as they fight for that so-called love. Wow, I want to suck blood now, lol!

Elena (Nina Dobrev) was the star student, beautiful, popular and always involved with school and friends activities but after that tragic car accidents that killed her parents, 17-year old Elena Gilbert finds herself struggling coping life without the care of her loving parents and hiding about the grief she and her brother, the 15-year old Jeremy are going through.

But as the school year begins, Elena and her friends are fascinated by a handsome and mysterious new student, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley).

Being beautiful and not to mention the complete copy-cat of Katherine’s (Stefan’s vampire girlfriend in the past) face, she and Stefan are immediately drawn to each other without knowing that Stefan is a centuries-old vampire trying to live peacefully among humans.

Stefan has a brother Damon (Iam Somerhalder) who unlike him, is the embodiment of vampire violence and brutality. Now these two vampire brothers – one good, one evil, are at war for Elena’s soul and for the souls of her friends, family and all the residents of the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia.

The Vampire Diaries is based on book series by L.J. Smith, and presented by Alloy Entertainment and Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studio. Produced by Kevin Williamson ('Dawson Creek', 'I know what you did Last Summer'), Julie Plec ('Kyle XY','Wasteland'), Leslie Morgenstein ('Gossip Girl', 'Privileged') and Bob Levy ('Gossip Girl', 'Privileged').
